Alex Jackson's brother, Walter, played in the Scottish League for Kilmarnock, appearing in 74 games and scoring 29 goals before moving to the United States for the 1923-24 season. Teaming up with his brother, Walter, a center forward, scored 13 goals in 21 games during that season. The brothers then returned to Scotland to play for Aberdeen, with Walter moving on to Preston North End in October 1925 before returning for a second spell at Bethlehem in 1927-28
