Snow Storm Crimps Big Game
Soccer fans who were all het up for the meeting between Bethlehem Steel and Fall River, today, are doomed to disappointment until a later date when the National champions will come to Bethlehem for the scheduled tilt. The local club management held in reserve an announcement until late yesterday afternoon and then when snow drifted too high to make it absolutely impossible to clean the pitch, the game was canceled. This is the first game scheduled for the home grounds canceled this season and judging by the activity on the Steel lot no time will be lost in placing the field in playing condition.
Remained Over After New Year Day Game
The cancellation was equally as disappointing for the Fall River clan for the big expense entailed in traveling availed the Fall River eleven nothing. The team played the Giants in New York City on New Year's Day and remained over in the Metropolis for the jaunt to Bethlehem. It is understood that the Marksmen were set on traveling to Bethlehem yesterday afternoon and rest up in a local hotel for the big game and then conclude the invasion to this district with t he game at Newark tomorrow. Instead, the players returned to their homes at Fall River last night. It is quite probable that Bethlehem will meet Fall River on the latter's ground in the next game and that the postponed contest will be played later in the season.
