A Swing Along Athletic Row

Perhaps in the Cup Competition
Insofar as league competition is concerned, the Bethlehem Steel soccer team closed shop with Fall River for this season in a game played on Sunday afternoon before the biggest crowd of the season. The league champions and national champions waged their battle to a 2 goal draw. Four times these rivals met this season and the record of these meetings discloses that honors are equally divided. In the first game, Fall River earned a draw at Bethlehem. In the next meeting the Marksmen defeated the national champions on their home lot by a score of 2 to 1. Then Fall River came to Bethlehem and the Steelmen made their victory decisive. The fourth and final meeting resulted in a draw. In the matter of goals scored, Bethlehem counted the most. Nine thousand fans were present at the game, a record for a league tilt. Bethlehem's only chance of again meeting Fall River this season is if both teams are survivors in the American League and National Cup competitions.
