Soccer Notes
The fans in the Newark district are looking forward with great interest to the visit of the champions in the third round of the American Cup next Sunday and they will no doubt give them a big reception. The Federal Shipbuilding F. C. will be Bethlehem's opponents. The Shipbuilders have been winning consistently and have not been defeated on their own ground to date so that the Steel Workers can expect a great fight, and their strongest possible lineup will be necessary if they expect to retain interest in the cup. The style of play of the Shipbuilders is similar to that of Bristol A team and is peculiarly suited to the short and narrow field but the experience of Bethlehem ought to help them to counteract the dash and aggressiveness of the home club if they play with their accustomed coolness they ought to emerge victorious.
Bethlehem Steel F. C. will meet the Goodyear F. C. of Akron, Ohio, in the Third Round of the National Cup, the game to be played at Bethlehem, Pa., on or before March 2nd.
