Fall River Still Leads Soccerites
There was no material change in the club standings of the American Soccer League over the weekend and Fall River, by virtue of having played two more games than Bethlehem, still leads in the race with an advantage of three points over the Steel Workers, there closest rival. With the exception of a game in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon when the National Giants of New York defeated the Phillies by the score of 3 goals to 2, there were no other league games over the weekend. Two were scheduled for the Metropolitan District, but both were postponed because of a severe snow storm in that section. Most important of the games postponed was the Bethlehem vs. Brooklyn game at the latter place, and the Newark vs. New York F. C. game in the latter's oval. Fall River was not scheduled for league competition and as a result of the weather Bethlehem lost an excellent chance to somewhat even up the number of games played and add a couple of points in the league standing.
