A Swing Along Athletic Row

Gliding Along on High
The performance of the Bethlehem Steel Soccer team over the weekend might well be inscribed in the annals of this season's campaigning as one of the most marvelous. Playing in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon the Steelmen bowled over Fall River, one of the strongest clubs in the circuit, by the score of 2 to 0. With scarcely time to eat a meal, the players dashed for the station and boarded a train to travel all night to reach Providence on Sunday for a league tilt. Apparently none the worse from the wear and tear of the trip and the hard battle against the Marksmen, the Steel booters took the field on Sunday afternoon and vanquished Providence, another of the strong New England clubs, by the score of 3 to 1.

Nationls, Eastern Representative
The New York Nationals will represent the East in the final for the premier soccer honors in the country. The Nationals earned the right to this distinction by defeating J & P Coats on the Polo Grounds on Sunday by the score of 5 to 3. In the final the Nationals will meet the Chicago Bricklayers, a team which eliminated the Ben Millers, of St. Louis, on Sunday afternoon by the score of 2 to 0. This game will be played at the Polo Grounds on April 8. This is the first time in 14 years that a New York team has gained the final round for the coveted trophy.
