SOCCER GAME A TIE MATCH
Mixing Up Players of Both Teams Produces a Close Contest
THREE GOALS EACH

A fair-sized crowd of soccer enthusiasts were royally entertained and witnessed some high-class soccer on the Bethlehem Steel athletic field on Saturday afternoon. The teams in combat comprised some of the foremost soccerites in the country, together with veteran and promising local talent.

The game was made possible because the Philadelphia F. C., circuit League, had an off day and decided to keep in trim by engaging in an exhibition contest. Practically all of the Quaker players, formerly the Bethlehem F. C., are residents of this city. Furthermore, the club carries a liberal surplus of players and these, together with former Bethlehem veterans and some promising younger talent comprised the picked or selected eleven to oppose the regulars.

The fact that the two teams were practically all one, made little difference in their play and the game was spiritedly contested, ending in a 3 to 3 deadlock. The selected eleven was materially strengthened with the inclusion of Kerr in goal; Bethune and Jock Ferguson fullbacks; Lorimer at center halfback, and Rice on the forward line. Two Lehigh players were also given an opportunity to add to their experience by playing with the big leaguers, Brewer guarding the citadel for the regulars and Fernandez, the leading goal scorer in the intercollegiate circuit and star forward of the Lehigh team, played a back position with the Bethlehem eleven. The score at half times was tied at one goal each. The lineup:
