SOCCER NOTES

The Bethlehem Steel Soccer team will go to Bayonne to meet the Babcock & Wilcox F. C. in a National League game. The Steel Workers defeated the "Babs" earlier in the season by the score of 4 goals to 1, but the Bayonne representatives have been greatly strengthened since that game by the addition of Neil Clarke and Jack Lance, former Bethlehem Steel stars. Although the Steel Workers expect to win they are also prepared for a hard contest. They will present their strongest possible lineup as the race for the championship fight is so keen that it will be almost fatal for Bethlehem to drop a game.

One of the principal reasons that prompted the Bethlehem Steel management to make a big bid to have the semi-final of the National Cup played at Bethlehem was the feeling that the local fans deserved something of that order particularly as they have not seen a National Cup game this season. The Joliet team is playing wonderful soccer just now and the biggest crowd that ever witnessed a game on the Bethlehem Steel Field should be on hand to see this game.
