May Tour Europe
The Bethlehem Steel Company soccer champions to tour Europe for a series of exhibition games during the summer months is a rumor coming from a reliable source, the tour pending the outcome of the two cup competitions in which the Bethlehem team has worked up tot he finals. The first mention made of the proposed trip, it is understood, was made just before the players took the field against the Robin Dry Docks F. C. at Harriman, N. J., on Saturday afternoon, meeting the Brooklyn team in a Semi-Final American Cup contest. It is believed that it was then that one of the officials announced that if the Bethlehem team was again successful in annexing the American and National league cups after having won the title in the National League, negotiations would be opened for a series of exhibition games in London. It is also understood that the Paterson F. C. is negotiating for such games but it is more than likely that should the champions show a willingness to make the tour, they will be far more preferable. The expense of such a trip, it is believe, would be more than taken care of by the guarantees offered by the European soccer magnates. In the foreign countries the game is the most popular of all sports and draws a gate of thousands of spectators. The Bethlehem Steel F. C. four times winner of the American and National Cup competition and undisputed champion of the United States it is believed would be a wonderful attraction.
