BETHLEHEM STEEL STILL HAS CHANCE TO WIN NATIONAL LEAGUE TITLE
By Sita Dell

With soccer campaigning again back into its own and assurances that inclement weather conditions can hardly interfere from now on in carrying out the remainder of the season's program, the race in the two cup competitions and National league is gradually narrowing down with the Bethlehem F. C. looking best at this time to duplicate the feat of again winning the honors.

Soccer prophets were a bit pessimistic relative to the outlook of the Bethlehem team shortly after their return from the games abroad but have since changed their opinion considerably and are forced to admit that the Steel Workers loom up as the strongest contenders for the soccer honors.

The steel team captured the National league championship last season as well as the National and American cups. In the National league they have already lost four points in the series out of five games played which ordinarily in a poor showing for the team. However, when New York and Erie F. C. defeated the National champions it was right after Bethlehem arrived home from their successful European invasion and many of the players were somewhat stale. With its acquisition of new men, the form displayed by the team at present could hardly be compared with their early season performance.

Robins' Dry Dock is still holding the leading berth in the National League according to the official standing just announced. The Brooklyn team has a two point bulge over the Erie A. A> and has played one less game than the Post clan.

Robins' have not yet lost a game out of eight played, totaling fifteen point and sharing the other point with Erie early in the season when they played each other to a standstill in a game which ended in a tie. The standing of the league to date follows.
