On the outcome of the weekend games hinges the chances of the Bethlehem Steel soccer team in closing in on their rivals, Fall River, for the honors in the American Soccer League race. According to the official standing Fall River, topping the circuit, is in that position by virtue of having played three more games than Bethlehem.

Bethlehem is scheduled in two games over the weekend, the first to be played on Saturday at Pawtucket, R. I., with J & P Coats the opponent. On Sunday the Bethlehem will clash with the National Giants, of New York City, Fall River will be idle in league competition with their efforts devoted to capturing the title in the national final to be played in St. Louis on Sunday. Should Bethlehem win both games the New Englanders will top the league by the margin of one lone point with Bethlehem still one game in the arrears.

In Pawtucket and New York the Steel Workers are sure to meet torrid opposition. Both Coats and the National Giants have strengthened their clubs so that if Bethlehem does win both games it will hardly be a walkover. Coats on a recent visit here were surprised when the team drew with Bethlehem at one goal each.
