A Swing Along Athletic Row

A Loyal Soccer Fan
One of the regulars and seldom missing a Saturday afternoon at Bethlehem Steel soccer games in this city was Rev. J. L. Tonkin, until recently pastor of St. John's Evangelical Church here. He has taken a new charge at Allentown, where he is now pastor of Salem Evangelical Church. For five years, Rev. Mr. Tonkin was located in Bethlehem and was often an interesting spectator at the majority of the home games of the Bethlehem soccer team. Rain, snow or cold had no terrors for the loyal Bethlehem booster and his name was listed among the loyals who defied all elements to attend the contest. A lover of clean sport, apparently, he found his diversion in seeing the soccer clan in action. Allentown is no great distance from Bethlehem and no doubt he will continue as one of the "regulars" at the home games.
