STEELMEN DRAW AND LOSE IN 2 GAMES
Scoreless Tie With Boston Saturday -- Beaten by Providence Sunday, 2 to 1
REGULARS OUT OF LINEUP

Easing up in the two American Soccer League games over the weekend, the Bethlehem Steel F. C. drew with Boston in a scoreless game on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon yield the two points to Providence, the latter winning 2 to 1.

With the grand final of the National cup game to be played on Sunday in Brooklyn, the Steel Workers took no chances and particularly in the second game against Providence, was the club minus several of its stars.

Visser Subs for Stark

Gerritt Visser replaced Archie Stark at center forward, while also missing among the front liners and players selected to oppose the Ben Miller's was Johnny Jaap, Johnny Granger and Malcolm Goldie. Both Berryman and Allen, regular fullbacks, were on the bench, with Whitely McDonald shifting from his half back position to a fullback, pairing off with the veteran Jock Ferguson, now trainer of the club. Harris and Raeside were halfbacks with MacGregor, leaving Carnihan, regular center halfback, among the players held in reserve.

In spite of this rearranged lineup the Steel Workers gave the Providence clan a hard battle, losing the game by only one goal. Bethlehem counted its lone tally in the opening half, when Visser after twenty-three minutes of play, netted the ball. Curtis equalized four minutes later, following up a shot by Florrie, which hit the cross bar and bounded back into the field.

The deciding tally came in favor of Providence after thirty-one minutes of play in the second half, Dixon scoring the shot. The lineup:

Scoreless Draw at Boston

Against Boston, on Saturday afternoon, Bethlehem Steel fielded the cup lineup but found the going hampered as the field, recently improved, had not yet been rolled.

In spite of these conditions, the Steel Workers looked like champions and had much the better of the play although unsuccessful in scoring. Good goal keeping on the part of the Boston team frequently frustrated the Steelmen's chances. The lineup:
