Providence and Boston Clash Sunday in R.I. in Race for Lewis Club
STEELMEN TO PLAY GIANTS

While Bethlehem Steel will be engaging in a league game in the New England district in the H. E. Lewis Cup competition will be decided by the game between Providence and Boston. This contest will be fought out at Providence on Sunday.

The playing of this the sole remaining engagement in the second round was delayed by the visit of the Hakoahs of Vienna to Providence on Sunday last. The victor in this cup battle will meet the Whalers of New Bedford in a home and home series to determine the New England candidate to compete against the Metropolitan District’s winner in the grand finals.

Providence and Boston have met four times this season in league fixtures and the series has resulted in two wins each, the home team taking the honors on each occasion. Boston has scored 7 goal to the Clamdiggers 6, and in only one contest, December 26, at Boston, was there more than a margin of one goal, the score on that date being 3-1 in favor of the Beaneaters.

The winner of this game will advance to the semi-final round to meet New Bedford. The Steel Workers meet the New York Giants in the semi-final round of the metropolitan bracket.
