Soccer Team to Decide Second Place For First Half of League Schedule

As a result of the draw held in the American Soccer League headquarters yesterday, the pairing in the second round and semi-final of the Lewis Cup competition are as follows:

Second round -- Boston vs. Fall River.

Semi-finals -- New Bedford vs. Boston or Fall River, and Bethlehem vs. Newark.

The second round series will be played at Boston, March 3, and at Tiverton, R. I., the following day, March 4, and providing the Boston-Fall River series is decided during that weekend, the semi-finals will be played one week later.

In the holiday game arranged for Washington's Birthday, Wednesday, February 22, the playoff contest between Bethlehem and New Bedford is the main attraction. This game, which will be staged in Mark's Stadium, Tiverton, R. I., will decide the second position in the first half of the American Soccer League schedule. Boston carried off the honors by garnering 48 points from 29 games for a percentage of .741. Bethlehem and New Bedford finished in a tie for the second berth, each obtaining 41 points from 29 games, for a percentage of .707.

The winner of this playoff contest in the Tiverton stadium will accompany Boston, and , the two leading teams in the second half of the schedule, into the round robin series to be played following the completion of the second portion of the schedule some time in May.

This important fixture will start at 2:30 p.m. and in the event of the teams being deadlocked at the end of the regulation 90 minutes of play, extra half hours will be played until decision is arrived at.
