One of the biggest soccer attractions ever staged in the East will be seen on Taylor field, Saturday, when Pullman, Chicago, western champion, and Bethlehem Steel, United States champion, again battle for the soccer championship of the United States. The game played at Chicago last Sunday which resulted in a 0-0 score after playing the full time and two extra periods shows how bitterly it was contested.
Preceding the game on Saturday will be a Wilbur cup final game for the Lehigh Valley championship between Bethlehem and the Allentown Y. M. C. A. This game will start at 1:30 p.m. The big game will start at 3 p.m.
The Chicago team will leave for Bethlehem today. J. B. Stark, Detroit, who refereed the game at Chicago last Sunday will again officiate this Saturday. Two referees belonging to the Philadelphia referees’ association will be linesmen.
It is quite possible that the Bethlehem Steel company band will be an added attraction on Saturday.
The Bethlehem squad is undergoing special training and every effort if being made to get the injured men in shape for Saturday’s game which will be played to a finish. The American cup game with Jersey City this Sunday has been postponed to Sunday, April 30.
