The Bethlehem Steel soccer team left this afternoon for Tiverton, R. I., the home grounds of the Fall River soccer club, where on Wednesday (Washington's Birthday) afternoon the Steelmen will clash with New Bedford in a game which is of the nature of a cup tie.
New Bedford and Bethlehem Steel tied for runner-up opposition to Boston, the latter topping the percentage table at the close of the first half of the American Soccer League schedule. The arrangement is that the first two teams of the first half season clash with the first two teams of the second half at the close of the season in a round robin series by which to decide the league championship.
Since New Bedford and Bethlehem tied it became necessary for a replay to decide the runner-up position between these two clubs.
New Bedford will be the opponent of the Steelmen in a league game to be played here on Saturday afternoon.
