STEEL FIELD NOW CALLED "LEHIGH FIELD"
Athletic Committee Decides on New "Moniker" For Elizabeth Ave. Grounds

The Bethlehem Steel athletic field will hereafter be known as "Lehigh Field". The recently acquired property was christened at the regular meeting of the Board of Athletic Control held on Monday evening, when the name of "Lehigh Field" was deciedd upon.

The distinction between the playgrounds, one on this side of the river and the other on the other side of the river will probably be in the name. To avoid confusion, patrons of Lehigh University sports must bear in mind that Taylor Stadium and upper field will have reference to the athletic grounds immediately adjoining the university campus, while Lehigh Field will mean what for years was known to the army of sports followers as the Bethlehem Steel athletic field or "Steel Field."
