Tribute to Old Bethlehem Soccer Machine
In referring to a tour planned by the Philadelphia F. C., the ex-Bethlehem combination, within the near future, Levi Wilcox, a Philadelphia critic, draws a comparison between the old Bethlehem soccer machine and the present aggregation, in which he pays the veterans a glowing tribute. He says:

"Several years ago the great Bethlehem machine played in Canada. On that occasion the up-staters had captured the American and National cups in one season. They played through the Canadian series without a defeat. The Bethlehem team, however, was a whale stronger than the present Phillies, taking every position into account - -and even at that they were hard pressed by the Canadian dribblers, in more than one match."
