N. Y. Nationals and Steelmen to Play Crucial Game on Elizabeth Avenue Field.

The curtain is to be rung down on big league soccer in Bethlehem for the season this afternoon at 5:30 when the Bethlehem F. C. tackled the New York Nationals in the first of the home-and-home games in opening round which will determine the championship of the American Soccer League. The game will be played rain or shine.

Since the last meeting of the two teams, two new payers were added to the roster of the New York Nationals and each a firmer star in European soccer. It was not known whether either one would be eligible to appear for the Nationals in the playoff this afternoon.

The new acquisitions are "Hooks" Leonard and Mike Connaboy, the former a center forward and the latter an inside forward. Each starred in first division soccer in Scotland as members of the Cowdenbeath Club.

Immediately after the game the Soccer Boosters with representatives of the service clubs will meet in the Hotel Bethlehem. The meeting is quite important for it is quite likely that some definite plans to devise ways and means of keeping the team in Bethlehem will be determined. The meeting will be called at 8:15 o'clock which will allow plenty of time for the fans to gather after the game.
