A Swing Along Athletic Row

Working While Others are Idle
Bethlehem Steel soccer players thoroughly rested from the strenuous American Soccer League season are doing little in the way of training these days although accustomed to the routine of keeping physically fit they do occasionally visit the Steel Co. gym for light workouts. There is an exception, however, involving two players, and these players are Archie Stark and the veteran Jock Ferguson, both of whom have another important match to play before they hang away their uniforms for the summer season. Stark and Ferguson have both been selected to represent the American team selected by the National Football Association for the international game against the pick of the Dominion to be played in Canada next weekend. Neither one can afford to pick up superfluous weight or lack condition for 90 minutes of grueling work on a soccer pitch at this time of the year and against a selected team is no child's play. And both Stark and Ferguson are aware of this fact.
