PROF. SOCCER LEAGUE ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE
American Organization Will Open 1926-27 Season Saturday, September 11.
ARRANGE SUNDAY GAMES

American Soccer League clubs will get an early an early start the coming season according to the schedule which was announced yesterday. Instead of lingering until the middle of next month which heretofore has been the case, the season opens Saturday, September 11, with all of the clubs scheduled with the exception of Bethlehem Steel and Brooklyn Wanderers.

The Phillies for their opening attraction are paired with Newark F. C. in this city. The Jerseymen, it will be recalled finished at the bottom of the rut last year.

The Philadelphia American Leaguers have not by any means drawn a soft assignment for theirs the Newarks, which will gain be managed by the veteran Tom Adams, have signed several new players during the off months.

According to the advance information the majority of the teams will all sport a number of new players in their lineups. Even Fall River, champions of the last two seasons, have been greatly strengthened.

Brooklyn Wanderers beside bolstering up their weak positions through the inclusion of several foreign stars have also signed four of the famous Hakoah players, who made such a favorable impression when the team toured this country last spring.

New York Giants also have signed several of the All-Jewish champions together with other players, who have arrived in this country since the close of last season.

Since the close of last season, the American League delegates have adopted the rule whereby each team takes its home receipts with a certain guarantee allotted the visiting teams for traveling expenses.

This arrangement will benefit such clubs as Fall River, New York Giants, Brooklyn Wanderers, and where Sunday soccer is league, though it is likely after the Athletics getting away with the game last Sunday that the Phils will also make a test with a view of making Sunday soccer in this city possible.
