Ten Clubs in Soccer Circuit
For the first time in the history of the game, the National Soccer League will open its season on Sept. 21. The reason for getting started so early is because the circuit is composed of 10 clubs instead of six, which was the case last season. According to Secretary Patrick, the league will be one of the most compact in regards to strength, for every team in the circuit is planning to present a strong line-up to combat the redoubtable Bethlehems, who are the favorites to capture the bunting again this year with their all-star cast. The Steel Workers will return home from their trip abroad late in September and will immediately start campaigning to make up for the games missed during their absence. Those who have followed the game the last few years will be in a position to glean from the teams entered that the National League will have the strongest circuit ever organized in this country. It is also the first time that 10 clubs have played in one circuit, therefore, there should be more than usual interest attached to the games. Each team will play 18 games during the season. The teams entered are: Bethlehem, Paterson, Robins Dry Dock, West Hudson, Erie A. C., New York F. C. of New York, Babcock & Wilcox, Morse Dry Dock, Merchant F. C. and Disstons, of Philadelphia.
