A Swing Along Athletic Row

Soccer Equally as Encouraging
A visit to Lehigh Field on Saturday afternoon for the Bethlehem-Fall River soccer game was strongly convincing t hat interest in the booting sport has been revived and forecasts putting across one of the biggest seasons in years. Close to two thousand patrons witnessed the booting melee and while the crowed in comparison hardly measures what the attendance would have been if the game had been played in Fall River, it is something, nevertheless, to know t hat it has been one of the biggest soccer attendances in recent years. The Boosters have apparently done their work well and the increased check at the gate might well be attributed to their efforts. "It wasn't so much the number of fans," said one devout follower, "as it was the enthusiastic reception given players, which impressed me the most. That in itself is a good sign. From the enthusiasm registered throughout the game, when plaudits were inspired by some brilliant work, it was plainly evident that the patrons were interested and enjoyed the game. Such a reception was most encouraging to the players, knowing that at last the moral support that has been lacking is to be their lot in the grueling league and cup campaigns.
