Still in the Running
Undaunted by the setback at the hands of Providence on Saturday afternoon the Bethlehem Steel soccer team is still very much in the American Soccer League scramble although trailing the league leaders by five points. However, some defeats must be expected in sport and it's the team that can come back fighting harder after a setback that is the one to be reckoned with in the final stride of the championship race. Bethlehem's defeat meant a matter of two points. Two points that would well have been utilized and if won would have made the Steel Workers tied for third place with the advantage of less games played than any of the league leaders. Equally balanced clubs in the league is emphatically indicated by the wide distribution of points in the few games already played. Philadelphia, in the cellar position in the league standing, is the only club that has not been successful in grabbing at least one point.
