LEAGUE DEFENDS LOCAL SOCCER ELEVEN
National Football Association Flatly Criticizes Those Clubs Which Are Kicking
BECAUSE "CHAMPS"
Are Delayed in Getting Started in Big League Race This Season

Whatever dissension has arise among clubs in the National Soccer League over the delay in the start of the Bethlehem club was severely criticized at a meeting of the league officials recently held. Rumors had it that Bethlehem Steel F. C. has received a greater amount of leeway than any other club would have received had it gone abroad as Bethlehem did during the latter part of the summer. The officials of the National League at their meeting made it pretty clear that Bethlehem had permission to make the trip and was advised as far back as June that their scheduled would be delayed until they arrived home. With this perfect understanding before the final arrangements were made for the tour, there is no cause for the attitude apparent among other clubs.

The Bethlehem club will start its season's campaign on Saturday afternoon when an exhibition game will be played on the Bethlehem Steel Co. field. The local management is enabled to muster together a fairly representative team and these players will be pitted against the crack University of Pennsylvania aggregation. The game will give fans an opportunity to see some of the players who featured in the games abroad in action.

The league games for Saturday and Sunday should prove that this season's contests cannot be compared in any way to the past season's performances. A glance at the standing of the clubs shows that the breaks of the game do not seem to stand with any one club in particular and it is a safe prophesy to remark that the season will be well gone before any particular club may safely be acclaimed as champions. The league game scheduled are:

Saturday
Disston A. A. vs. Morse Dry Dock F. C., at Tacony Park, Philadelphia. Referee, John Walders, Philadelphia.

Sunday
New York F. C., vs. I. R. T. F. C., at Lenox Oval, New York City. Referee, Findlay, Bayonne.
Robins Dry Dock, F. C., vs. Erie A. A., at Todd Field, Brooklyn, N. Y. Referee, Charles Ward, Passaic.

Federal Ship F. C. vs. Paterson, F. C., at Clark's Field, East Newark. Referee, Charles Cunningham, Brooklyn
