STEEL GAINS IN STANDING

AMERICAN LEAGUE SOCCER RESULTS

Saturday Games
Bethlehem 2, Fall River 1
Providence 1, Philadelphia 0
Indiana Flooring 2, Pawtucket 1

Sunday Games
Fleisher Yarn 4, Giants 2
Providence 0, Newark 1
Brooklyn 2, Fall River 2

Boston assumed undisputed lead in the American Soccer League race by its victory over New Bedford on Saturday. Bethlehem improved in standing in the point column by annexing two points with a victory over Fall River. The victory of the Bethlehems broke the deadlock between Boston and Fall River for first place in the club standing.

Boston is now the only undefeated team in the league, although four of the seven games played ended with tie results. Bethlehem has an excellent opportunity of advancing still further in the standing with Newark here for a league game on Tuesday (Election Day) afternoon, and two more games following, to be played on home loam. To date the Steel Workers have played the major portion of their games away from home.

The standing of the league, including the games played up to and on Sunday, is as follows:
