ARCHIE STARK TO PLAY A HALFBACK POSITION
Revamped Bethlehem Team Necessary For Game Against New York Nationals
MCGREGOR IS INDISPOSED

An opportunity of seeing Archie Stark, premier center forward of American soccer, playing a wing halfback position, is a possibility when the Bethlehem booters inaugurate their campaign in the newly organized Atlantic Coast League against the New York Nationals here on Saturday afternoon. As one of the two major attractions to be waged on home fields this game presents to soccer fans the opportunity of turning out en masse.

In playing Stark at halfback instead of his usual pivot post on the forward line, it is not made by choice but rather necessity. After a check-up of players in the big training session yesterday afternoon the sturdy McGregor, captain of the team, was found among the players who cannot be counted upon for this game. The loss of McGregor and the forced absence of several other first stringers, brought about some drastic shifts in positions. The Bethlehem captain is nursing a very sore carbuncle on his arm.

Johnny Jaap, who several weeks ago was called to his home in Pittsburgh due to the death of this wife, has not yet rejoined the team and it is hardly likely that he will be here for the game. On top of this Johnny Rollo has been found to be more seriously injured than at first thought and along with McDonald, will be bench warmers.

Tommy Gillespie, who by force of necessity will be shifted to center forward, is not in the best of condition, nursing a slight leg injury, but well, nevertheless, be forced to participate.

The "Nats" according to the lineup forwarded, will be able to present the personnel of the club intact and probably the strongest team ever to represent the Stoneham clan. Players of the ability of Renzulli, goalie; Swede, Carlson, Bart, McGhee, Warden, Slaven and Martyn, need no introduction to home town fans.

John Walders, ranked as one of the best officials in the East, comes to Bethlehem after a prolonged absence, to handle the game. He will be assisted on the lines by two local officials. The probable lineup of the teams follows:

Bethlehem -- New York Nats
Beveridge -- G -- Renzulli
Gibson -- RFB -- Warden
Allan -- LFB -- Donald
Reid -- RHB -- Wagner
Carnihan -- CHB -- Slavin
Stark -- LBH -- Martyn
Dick -- OR -- Gallagher
Henighen -- IR -- Carlsen
Gillespie -- CF -- Nelson
Massie -- IL -- Leonard
Purgavie -- OL - -McGhee
