A Swing Along Athletic Row

Samís Liberal Offer
The American Soccer League held a meeting in Providence on Wednesday night and among the most important business transacted was disposition of the famed Stevenson case. Providence withdrew its threatened legal actions, meaning that Stevenson is suspended and the action of the U. S. F. A. and Scottish Football Association is upheld. Stevenson was banned for jumping a contract. In a more or less informal manner, probably as a sounder, it is understood Sam Marks, manager and owner of the Fall River team to appear against the Steelmen on Saturday, quite liberally offered to transfer three of his players in lieu of the transfer of Archie Stark and Malcolm Goldie. Marks might have well offered the entire Fall River team for the transfer of these two popular veterans. And then it is very doubtful if the management would consider the proposition.
