A Swing Along Athletic Row

The Soccer Situation
With one half of the games listed for the American Soccer League this year played, four teams, New Bedford, Boston, Brooklyn and Bethlehem, are so closely grouped that the result of any weekend schedule of games is apt to mean the difference between the first and fourth place. Boston has dropped six points to date, New Bedford, seven, Brooklyn and Bethlehem each eight. Brooklyn has scored the largest number of goals, 43; while Boston has had the lowest number scored against it, 10, with Brooklyn second with 8. Brooklyns visit to Bethlehem on Saturday is going to be quite an important one. The outcome of the game will either establish Bethlehem Steel in third place or give Brooklyn a fairly strong hold on that position.
