Steelmen to Clash on Elizabeth Avenue Pitch With Newark F. C.

The Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club will again contribute the only major outdoor sports attraction in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday afternoon when the Steelmen oppose the Newark F. C. in an American League game. The game will bet he first of the weekend twin bill, in which Bethlehem will be at Brooklyn on Sunday.

Inspired with their triple success over Fall River, Bethlehem now looms as the most formidable team in the league and is going to be a hard club to stop. The team has emerged from the gloom that prevailed during the list of wholesale injury and rapidly rounding into the best condition will not easily be checked in its winning stride.

Bethlehem lost an excellent opportunity of keeping within two points of New Bedford, the league leader, when Newark called off the game in Jersey on Sunday afternoon. The Steelmen were on hand and ready to go but their willingness to play was no influence in making the game possible. It was the only league game postponed last Sunday and as a result New Bedford, with two games more played than Bethlehem, increased its lead in the league race by four points.
