TODDS ELIMINATE PHILADELPHIA F.C.
Hard Fought Soccer Game Yesterday Throws Local Players Out of National Cup
RATICAN PLAYS STAR GAME

Todd's Shipyard decisively defeated Philadelphia Field Club in the fourth round of the National Soccer Cup competition at the National League ball park, Philadelphia, yesterday afternoon, winning 4 goals to 1. This eliminates the Philadelphia team from this competition and round.

The Todd's aggregation was in the best of condition and played a fine game, while the Philadelphians did not come up to their usual form in many ways. The playing field was in a muddy condition, and this handicapped the players somewhat.

Ratican and McKelvey each came through with a goal in the initial period and the teams crossed over with the Todd's side on the long end of a 2 to 0 score. However, after the interval the Phillies braced and on a spurt their lone tally was scored, Forrest saving his team from a shutout. This goal came just one minute after the restart. Ratican again scored in this half and McGuire added the fourth shortly before the close. Lineup:
