Blizzard Prevents Contest

There was much surprise expressed Saturday afternoon when a bulletin was posted in front of The Daily Messenger office announcing that the Homestead Steel Works-Bethlehem game which was to have been played in the latter place had been postponed on account of a blizzard. As a usual thing it takes some storm to cause the postponement of a soccer game and judging from reports from the east it was some storm. From eighteen to twenty inches of snow fell and the wind blew at sixty miles an hour, it being by far the worst storm of the season along the Eastern coast. The players did not get out of their hotel. Arrangements were made to have the team stay over until today and play. The game will be played off this afternoon and the result posted in front of The Daily Messenger officer.
