A Swing Along Athletic Row

Soccer Dope Much Abused Yesterday
The sure shot soccer dope was knocked for a row of tin cans in the game played yesterday afternoon, the most important upset of which was the elimination of the Paterson F. C., National soccer champions, in the semi-final round of the American Cup competition. Pitted against the Fleisher soccer team of Philadelphia, the champions went down to a 3 to 1 defeat passing the honor of finalists to the Quaker City aggregation. Paterson was scheduled to oppose Coats in a game on Saturday but because of the cup competition the following day, the American League game was canceled. Other rated outsiders came through to victories when Harrison F. C., defeated New York F. C. on the latter's field by the score of 3 to 1 and the Phillies thumped the Brooklyn Wanderers by the count of 2 to 1. Both t he latter games were American League contests.
