A Swing Along Athletic Row

Night Soccer Proves Feasible
Soccer can be played at night without any handicaps. Charlie Stoneham, big league baseball magnate, demonstrated to the satisfaction of more than 10,000 fans at the Polo Grounds last night that the booting game can be put on as recreation for the army of sports lovers who find it impossible to leave their labors during the day. A team comprising members of the Bethlehem Steel F. C. and the New York Giants opposed the Hakoah booters in the first big soccer tilt ever played at night. A crowd, varying in estimates between ten and twenty thousand fans, turned out for the experiment and were royally entertained. It is more than likely that New York will see more soccer games at night. And perhaps other cities will follow suit and install illuminating plants similar to the one which made the game possible at the Polo Grounds.
