Brooklyn Off to an Early Start
Nat Agar, owner and manager of the Brooklyn Wanderers, is going to get all out of soccer there is to get. He plans to get his Wanderers under way early this month and have them well tuned up when the league season opens on September 11. Agar is probably forcing the issue a bit too early. Soccer don't go so big in warm weather, particularly at a time when interest is still keen in the big league baseball doings. In this respect it might be suggested that in the arrangement of the schedule, as many double headers be avoided as possible during the warm weather. Soccer is a strenuous sport and no player is able to come back strong the following day after a grueling contest under a torrid sun.
