Soccer Season Launched
Soccer is one of the few outdoor sports played regardless of weather or ground conditions. Now and then such games are postponed but before they are, adverse conditions must be extreme. Practically all of the American Soccer League teams played their pre-season preliminaries over the weekend. Bethlehem was one of the clubs and because the New York Giants proved the best mud larks, finished second in a exhibition affair at Starlight Park . Bethlehem took the field with three of its recent acquisitions in the lineup. They had their first taste of soccer as played in this country and each gave a creditable performance. Bethlehem's league season gets under way next week with a game at Brooklyn on Sunday and then the grand opei8ng in Bethlehem on Monday.
