Corinthians Twice Held to a Draw

Guess the invasion of the Corinthians, the touring English soccer team, would have been checked with at least one reverse if some of the top notch clubs in the American Soccer League had been given an opportunity to appear on the exhibition schedule. However, the choice was wisely made and the count when the Englishmen leave the states will probably show a clean slate. Only two teams have thus far been able to hold the tourists to an even break and both these teams by the war are identified as being associated with the American Soccer League. The Philadelphia F. C., a team that comes to Bethlehem on Saturday to wage a league battle against the Steel Workers held the Corinthians to a one goal draw. Yesterday afternoon in Brooklyn the Brooklyn club was equally as successful. Looks like all the American League clubs have added strength to their make-ups. All of which means more interesting attractions on the Steel Field this season.
