A Swing Along Athletic Row

Those Two Points
Bethlehem Steel players surely must be smarting under the loss of two points in the American Soccer League race, dropped on the visit of the New York Giants to the Bethlehem Steel Field. Those two points would have given the Steel Workers commanding lead in the league race. As it is they are now deadlocked at the top with Fall River. Probably the setback did them good for gossip on the return of the Steel Workers from their two games' trip played over the weekend is to the effect that the team never played better football. Having successfully disposed of Coats, the Bethlehem clan came on to New York yesterday where in one of the most brilliant displays ever, they disposed of Brooklyn by the score of 2 goals to none. "It was the best game of soccer ever witnessed in the New York district," was the comment freely passed as the fans were filing out of Hawthorne Field. At the top of the ladder Bethlehem has something to fight for and with the league bunting as an incentive can be expected to make a determined stand of it.
