BETHLEHEM LEADS IN NEW SOCCER LEAGUE
Local Booters Take Two Games to Pave Way for Other Clubs
HISPANOS ARE UNDEFEATED

The Bethlehem Soccer team with two victories and no defeats assumed first place in the Eastern Soccer League after the opening games played over the weekend. The locals twice defeated the New York Giants, winning the game here on Saturday afternoon and again turning back the Giants on the latter's field on Sunday. The weekend scores:

Saturday

Bethlehem 3, Giants 2.
New York Rangers 2, Newark 2.
New York Hakoah 0, Celtics 0.
New York Hispano 7, Philadelphia Centennials 4.

Sunday

Bethlehem 2, New York Giants 1.
New York Hakoah 6, New York Rangers 1.

The league had quite an auspicious start in which good games were played before large crowds. Looming as a strong contender for the league honors is the New York Hakoah, a team virtually intact with the players of the original Hakoah team to tour this country. The league standing:
