The Athletic committee of the Bethlehem Steel company is having the diamond on the new athletic field covered with sod in preparation for the soccer season.

The massive grandstand is rapidly nearing completion and presents a beautiful appearance.

Victor Soccer team, South Bethlehem, members of the second division of the Blue Mountain league, was in the parade, Tuesday night. The members made a good appearance in their soccer uniforms.

Saturday, November 11, the Veteran Field club, Philadelphia, will clash with the Steelworkers in the first round of the national cup.

The strong Babcock and Wilcox team, Bayonne, N. J., will be seen in action against the local champion on the new athletic field, next Saturday, November 4.

As a preliminary to the big game, Bethlehem High school and Victor, South Bethlehem, will clash in a Blue Mountain league contest. Both teams are reported to be very evenly matched and a fast game should be the result. The kick-off will take place a 2 p.m.

The game between the Babcock and Wilcox club of Bayonne, N. J., and the Steelworkers will start promptly at 3:15 p.m. Two forty-five minute halves must be played.

Arrangements are being completed for the National champion to play the pick of Philadelphia, on the Phillies’ ball grounds, the latter part of this month.

George Young, Philadelphia, has been selected to referee the big game on t he new athletic field, Saturday.
