Soccer Game Day's Major Attraction
With the close of the football season soccer season comes into its own as the chief outdoor major attraction for the Winter months and as such should turn the army of sports enthusiasts to direct their attention that way. The only big attraction scheduled in the Lehigh Valley tomorrow will be enacted on the Bethlehem Steel field where the Steel Workers, engaged in a bitter battle for the league honors, will oppose the strong New York Giants. The period of experimenting is over and the clubs at this stage of the schedule are well aware of the merit of opposition and the pace necessary to contend for the honors. Teams are in mid-season form and with this condition reached only the best brand of soccer is assured. While as yet soccer has not taken the hold here that it has in other centers, Bethlehem, one of the first cities to be represented in the sport, gives promise of developing into a hot bed for the outdoor recreation. The standing of the team and the merit displayed reveal that while there are other contenders for the league bunting, the Steel City is again represented by one of the best teams in the country and a team that bids fair to be up among the top in the final stretch of the race.
