REGULARS IN LINEUP FOR SATURDAY GAMES
Cripples Ready to Resume Playing in Game Against New York Giants
TEAM TRAINING HARD

While all teams in the Eastern Soccer League will be active over the weekend, interest will be focused on the feud to be settled in this city on Saturday afternoon when Bethlehem and the New York Giants lock horns on Lehigh field.

Conditions at the training quarters of the Bethlehem team are more encouraging this week than they have been for a long time. Players who were on the shelf because of injury started training and rapidly rounding into condition. While the team will comprise a veteran outfit for the game here it is doubtful if all the regulars will be able to stand the pace of another hard game on Sunday with the Giants. And with that in mind Bethlehem is determined to annex victory in the home clash.

Johnny Jaap was back at his regular position on the forward line and although idle for several weeks has seemingly lost none of his skill or aggressiveness. Johnny cavorted in excellent style in the practice sessions and is anxious to get back into service.

The team has not yet been selected but it is practically certain that when the choice is made Gillespie, Jaap, Stark, Massie and Rollo will receive the call as the starting forwards. Relative to the halfback line that choice is already made with the celebrated trio of Carnihan, McGregor and Reid the choice.

With Carnihan and McGregor again available Matt Wilson, who was pinch hitting on the halfback line, will be returned to his regular position and will be paired off with either Allan or the veteran Jock Marshall.

As a goal scoring team the Giants rank next to Bethlehem with a total of 87 for the twenty-three games. Bethlehem bettered this record with a total of 96. Defensively the Giants also rank close to Bethlehem, the final standing of the first half schedule revealing that while 42 goals were scored against the locals only five more were scored against the Giants.

With these figures available it is plainly evident that the game on Saturday will present the two strongest clubs in the league. In winding up the first half season Bethlehem won twenty-one of the twenty-three games played. Incidentally the only two defeats experience by the locals were accomplished by the Giants and one of these on Bethlehem's home field.

The goals scoring honors for the half season were clinched by Archie Stark with a total of 29. His nearest rival was Wortman, of the Hakoah All-Stars with 26. The leading goal scorers were:
