A Swing Along Athletic Row

Brilliant Rally of Paterson Wins Cup Game
To come from behind in the final of a National Cup competition where one goal looms as a big as a mountain, overcome a two goal lead and capture the game in one of the unexpected turns of fate that seldom occurs. Yet that is just exactly what Paterson F. C. did in capturing the Eastern final of the National Cup competition, defeating J & P Coats, of Pawtucket, R. I., on Harrison field, New Jersey, yesterday afternoon by the score of 3 goals to 2. It was one of the most sensational finishes ever witnessed in a soccer match. According to reports Paterson was hopelessly outclassed in the first half of the game and on the showing [...] session there was not one of the thousand of spectators to concede them a chance of overcoming a two-goal lead. Then Paterson did the unexpected. Came back at the restart, completely playing their rivals off their feet and before time was called scored three goals. By the victory Paterson earned the right to oppose the Scullins of St. Louis in the National final on Harrison Field next Sunday. Paterson is favored to win and judging by the gritty display against Coats, the [...]paters seem to have it figured out right.
