Bethlehem Steel will not be engaged in any games this week due to all teams in the league being scheduled for cup games. The next game that the Steel Workers will take part in will be the second round American Cup contest with J & J Dobson, of Philadelphia.
The Dobson lineup showed unexpected strength in their National Cup game with Disston last Saturday when they held the Sawmakers to a draw after two hours' play. The locals, therefore, do not expect an easy time when they play Dobson, and they will be ready to play the full ninety minutes at a fast pace.
Losing out in the National Cup in the second round was a great blow to the Steel Workers, but they have fully recovered from the setback, and they are looking forward to the possibility of meeting the Eries in the American Cup and they are confident that they will be able to reverse last Sunday's results.
The Eries must visit Bethlehem in the National League and the game will surely be one of the best of the season.
On Thanksgiving Day, the Steel Workers will visit Quincy, Mass., where they will play an exhibition game against the Fore River Club for the benefit of the widow and children of a former Fore River player who was killed recently in a soccer game in the Boston district. Negotiations are also under way with a view to arranging a game at Fall River, or Pawtucket, on Saturday, Nov. 27.
